The band's name is Peroxwhy?Gen, and I know you're going to ask "how do I pronounce this?" so let me clear it up for you: it's pronounced 'per-oxygen'. Leave it to Jeff Hardy to come up with the name.

If you don't know who Jeff Hardy is, well you just missed out a huge part of your childhood! Jeff Hardy is one of the most decorated WWE superstars and is one-half of the Hardy Boyz, alongside his older brother Matt Hardy. Looking at Jeff Hardy, you can already tell that he has a persona of his own. His crazy hair colours that changes every time, black nails and tattoos add to his rockstar image.

As you may or may not have known, I am a huge fan of Fozzy, which is Chris Jericho's band. I love Chris Jericho's vocals and Fozzy's style of music. I only discovered Jeff Hardy's band much much later (which is so overdue!) and decided to give his music a try. Rock has many different genres and Jeff Hardy's music is definitely a whole other style. I'm always open to listen to the different genres of rock and when I heard Jeff Hardy's music for the first time, my reaction was, "Woah, this is different, but in a good way."

So let me introduce you to Peroxwhy?Gen's latest album which was released on 17th July 2017 (my birthday! this has already became so much better). It's called Precession of the Equinoxes and this is the band's third album. The album has a total of 14 tracks and a cumulative track time of 55 minutes.

The album opens with "Sphere on Earth". This, to me, is probably more of an interlude since Jeff Hardy monologues through the entire 3 minutes. It kinds of reminds me of Black Veil Brides' transmission tracks in their Wretched and Divine: The Story Of The Wild Ones album. "Sphere on Earth" should probably be in the middle of the album and a more ear-capturing song should have been first on the album list to get the attention of listeners. But hey, you do you Jeff and this was an artsy piece of work as we get a better insight to his life.

"Revived" is the next track on the album list. The piano accompaniment at the beginning gives an indie vibe to the song. The track progresses into a faster-paced song, giving off an emo and rock vibe. "Occasion" is a slow song, beginning with vibes like Bad Company. This soft-rock/emo song brings a relaxed tone to the album. "Enigmatic" is a fast-paced song with a great intro. This song is lodged in between two slow-sounding songs. Not really sure why Jeff Hardy decided this, but this song definitely rocks.

"Complacent" begins with a finger-style guitar playing before the electric guitar comes in. If I didn't know better, it sounds like a beginning of a Bon Jovi track or even a Green Day song. This song has more of a pop-rock tone and 80's vibe to it. Towards the middle of the track, Jeff Hardy raps for a while then it comes back to the original tone of the song.

"Otherwise" is the shortest track on the album with the track time of 2:44. The intro hooks you immediately as the track progresses into an alternative rock song. The guitar riffs kind of gives you a little throwback to a song that people jammed out to in the early 2000s. "Silver Streets" starts with an acoustic guitar sound. The song begins slow, then at the chorus it picks up. The guitar solo in the song is fast but impactful. "Unforgivable" starts with an electric guitar before the acoustic guitar comes in. The song is somewhat a ballad song. Jeff Hardy's melodious voice in the chorus really grips you.

"1 or 100" and "Fiction" are the two longest tracks on the album, with the track times of 6:21 and 6:16 respectively. "1 or 100" sounds like two songs combined together but then the chorus kicks back in and it's a perfect tie-in. This song is arguably one of my favourites because the beginning of the song already hooks me. "Fiction" is one of the heavier songs in this album. It's a killer song and it definitely is an epic 6-minute track. If you don't head bang to this song, what are you doing?

"Vicariously" has heavy guitar sounds in the beginning and great riffs throughout. There's backing vocals accompanying Jeff Hardy's vocals in the beginning and chorus. "Vicariously" sounds like the song I could jam out to anywhere and randomly shout 'Hey!' as Jeff Hardy sings the chorus. "Emotionless" begins with a heavy guitar sound before Jeff Hardy's vocals comes in. The song sounds more nu-metal accompanied with rap metal. To me, this song definitely doesn't sound emotionless as Jeff Hardy pours his soul into writing and singing this.

"September Day" has an electronic vibe and gritty tone to the song. To me, it sounds like it was made for a Transformers movie. Finally, the album concludes with "Catastrophic". It has a spooky vibe in the beginning and it is proven when Jeff Hardy sings the first line of the song 'Spirit of the lost soul'. It sounds emo plus electronic added with rap elements.

Overall, this album is alright. One thing that you need to know about Jeff Hardy's music is that his songs are like a work of poetry (in motion) and that his writings are personal. I don't really know what to categorise Jeff Hardy's music as, but what I do know is that I have a huge amount of respect for Jeff Hardy. So props to you for creating music that you love. I think that Jeff Hardy is still experimenting with different styles but he does have talent and some of the songs have flair to be rocking tracks.

Let's hope to see Jeff Hardy performing in the ring soon (speedy recovery, Jeff!) and Peroxwhy?Gen in the Vans Warped Tour. Good luck!
